We focus primarily and board-and train, not individual lessons.

Due to our uniqueness of a home environment as opposed to a kennel and what we offer in our board and train programs, the fact that you are placing your dog not only with a dog trainer, but also an animal behaviorist, that has studied in and has taught the behaviors of canines, we at Jersey City Canine encourage you to check out other dog trainers. Explore what they offer for basic obedience in comparison to what we offer and the value for your dollar you will get with us.

We will now detail to you what we offer as a regular board and train program. All of our courses offer the following:

Lifetime discount on follow up refresher lessons
Daily long walks and recreation (play) time
Exposure to stores, noisy environments, people.
Loose leash walking using prong collar
Bathed and groomed before departure

6 week /8 week/10 week board and train course

6 week Board & Train Basic Obedience Course: $3,000

$3,000

Initial acclimatization with trainer and household
Walking without pulling on a leash
Sit and Down Stay commands.
Come command.
Polite entrance in leaving and entering a doorway
If still a puppy, help with crate training and housebreaking
Riding in a car nicely and crate training.
Manners around people and strange dogs without aggressive behavior being shown.
Your dog is courtesy bathed and brushed before leaving for your home
All behavior is ON LEASH, not Off leash in this stage of training.

8 Week Board and Train Course

$4,000

Same as above, but added are as follows:

Teaching 5 tricks for dog to pass AKC puppy tricks class
The Down and Sit commands are now enforced to become Sit-Stay and Down-Stay, at a distance of at least 15 feet away from owner, but not yet off leash, and reliability is now added to sit-stay and down-stay.
Teaching a dog to pass by a neutral stranger without showing fear or aggression
Teaching a dog come command with mini-Educator.
This is NOT designed to produce a fully off leash trained dog. Tha

10 week Board & Train Basic Obedience Course

$5,000

Same as both of the above, but we now add:

On Leash Sit-Stay and Down-Stay with greater duration and reliability.
Walking in parallel to another dog and remaining neutral
Preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Exam (C.G.C)

Depending on the dog ,and breed and temperament, we might need 10 weeks to accomplish what the 8 week course covers.
